Psychological Services in Drayton Valley

At Brenda Petrie Psychotherapy & Consulting her goal is to help children and adults lead a more productive and joyful life. She has extensive knowledge and experience working with children and adults, as a therapist, consultant, and teacher.

Brenda is an EMDR Certified Therapist™ and has met standards of consultation, clinical practice, and continuing education to provide EMDR therapy. An EMDR Certified Therapist™ has engaged in at least 20 hours of consultation with an EMDR Consultant™ for EMDR and has practiced their skills with at least 25 different clients in at least 50 EMDR sessions. An EMDR Certified Therapist™ is committed to fulfill ethical standards and is engaged in continuing education. To maintain this certification, a therapist must continue to satisfy the EMDRIA requirement including completion of continuing education requirements and adherence to ethical standards.

Studies show the longer someone is off work, the less likely he or she is to ever return. Brenda is committed to providing psychological services to help injured workers recover and return to work. Getting back on the job helps injured workers recover faster, regain their independence, and get back to real life.

NIHB Indigenous Services Canada
Brenda is an approved provider for the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program, the Indian Residential Schools Resolution Health Support Program (IRS RHSP), Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls in Canada (MMIWG) Program , and the Indian Day Schools (IDS) Program.

Cost

Fees for a 50-minute session are $220.00

Fees for a psychoeducational assessment are $1800.00

As a fully registered psychologist since May 2014, her area of expertise is marriage and family therapy. In her work as a private practitioner, she has provided clinical counselling, psychoeducational assessment, and school consultation.
